202 Foundation for Excellence annual dinner, Alumni Hall induction postponed
The District 202 Foundation for Excellence has postponed its 37th annual dinner and auction fundraiser because of concerns about COVID-19 (coronavirus).
The event, which also includes the annual District 202 Alumni Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be rescheduled. It was planned for April 16, 2020.
“We want this to be a special evening and that includes ensuring the health and safety of our guests,” said Foundation Chair Margie Bonuchi.
“It is very unfortunate, and we feel terrible for everyone who has already worked so hard, and for all our Hall of Fame nominees,” she said.
The District 202 Foundation for Excellence has raised and contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars since 1983 to support District 202 students, staff and the community.
The Foundation each year funds grants, scholarships and projects; and supports special community programs such as the Great Read, a District Art Gallery and the 1847 Schoolhouse Restoration.
The Alumni Hall of Fame honors District 202 graduates who have distinguished themselves beyond their high school years through their significant accomplishments or service.
